The Adventures of Dorcas and Hyperbole come to an end

Today was my last day working with my friend and colleague Sandra ... and so the Adventure of Dorcas and Hyperbole* come to end.

I will miss our deep conversations about the use of caps in correspondence, our debates about appropriate responses to clients, our mishaps with copy & paste.  I will also miss the meaningful conversations we have in between about life, the universe and everything.  I'll miss the pranks she played on me and attempting to bribe her with sour worms. I am so sad to see her go, but so stoked for her own big adventure.

And as of 5pm today, I am on leave and I am so excited that I did all my work today with half a mind. Errm ... hopefully it was all done right. But if not ... well, its not my problem for the next 3 weeks.  And soon I'll be on epic road trip which better be as epic as I have planned in my head or someone will be held accountable. And as I did all the planning, that person will probably be me.

My boyfriend is still sick with a strain of the man-flu known as measles.  Being the hypochondriac** that I am, ever since I heard the word "measles", I have been doing hourly checks to make sure that I haven't developed any rash-like symptoms and checking my temperature twice daily.***  So far, my immune system has held up and I haven't caught super-woman flu yet so here's holding thumbs I don't get sick as I start my leave.

Oh wait ...  I remember .... I'm actually Dorcas**** ...  so that means Sandra was Hyperbole.  Which makes no sense because I'm the one who is always exaggerating.  Maybe we need to have another look at our super-hero names.

* An inside joke that I don't care to explain partly because I don't remember how it started and partly because I don't remember if I am Dorcas or Hyperbole
** Maybe I am Hyperbole
*** Thats an exaggeration ... I am definitely Hyperbole
**** Because I said that Dorcas sounds like a cute name you call someone who is a dork. And of the 2 of us, I am definitely more of a dork as my love of sci-fi movies and the hours I have accumulated playing pc games can attest
