Road Trip Day 3: Bela Bela to Kruger National Park

After two days on the road, we had a peaceful morning and slept in until 6h30.  Then we were packed and ready to go ... but not before spotting a few buck from the porch of our cottage.

We then headed to the warmbaths resort for a long dip in the hot pools and then had a leisurely sit-down breakfast.

It was a relaxing morning and left us feeling refreshed.  However we definitely regretted that we couldn't spend more time there.

The water from the springs is 52 degrees Celsius, which was the perfect temperature on such a brisk morning.

Feeling refreshed and ready for the next part of our journey, we started our 7 hour trip to Kruger National Park.  We decided to skip the scenic route and head straight there, but there was one stop which we definitely wanted to make - and that was Nan Hua Temple.  This is a Buddhist temple and community in the middle of Bronhorstspruit.  It seems like a totally random place for it, but it is beautiful and peaceful and we are so glad that we took the time to stop there.

After that, it was pretty much a straight drive through to the hotel we were staying, just outside of Kruger National Park.  It was a long, long drive and the GPS was up to its old trick of leading us through the dodgiest roads possible.

But finally we made it to the hotel in one piece.  After settling into our rooms, we had a well-deserved drink in the bar and then had an awesome buffet dinner in the boma restaurant.  Although it is an open-air restaurant, it was a warm evening and fires were lit all over.

It had been a long trip so far, but having made it to the main part of our stay, we could finally and truly relax for a few days.
